Year: 2021
This design is one of the works I have done in my spare time at home and with my modest tools.
The idea started when I was on a working visit to one of Neighboring blacksmithing workshops, where I noticed a large amount of leftover chrome pipes there, and it occurred to me right away that we could use them in making some office furniture items. I immediately started arranging a quantity of them in a certain form. In the first stage I made my work desk and then a small middle table and this sofa was what I worked on recently.
I used in the designed configuration a group of discarded materials such as remnants of chrome tubes with a diameter of 2 inches for the main structure and some pieces of MDF wood as the base for the seat and the back, A wick for isolating the expansion joints made of foam and black rubber fabric to secure the soft and comfortable session.
This work is within the context of the design philosophy that we adopt in our work, which is based on achieving the pleasure of integrated design that meets the need to sit and lie at the same time. We have followed the principles of green design and sustainability through the use of neglected natural materials, thus achieving the trilogy of science, art, visual and functional pleasure that we have adopted as fundamentals for our design work.
