This work is an extension of the method we followed in our design process based on creating unusual design and functional solutions, presenting a different vision in the approved configurations, avoiding all kinds of competition, and focusing on achieving visual pleasure, benefit, comfort and ease of use within the framework of the trilogy of science, art, visual and functional pleasure, and offering new geometric relations extraordinary in line with the spirit of the age and future outlook.
In this work, we present a study and design for management office for one of the largest printing presses in Damascus. The studied space consists of a reception, showroom, design studio, kitchenet and w.c, within an area of 35 square meters.
The design was based on the origami style within a deconstructive framework that relies on geometric lines, blocks, formations and relations that extend and refract from the entrance to the interior space and continue to form the rest of the activities of the space and branch out on the walls and ceiling within sharp and obtuse angles and balanced and tight kinetic forms.
To emphasize movement and continuity in the design, we added a clear and visible orange stripe that extends and connects most of the furniture, walls and ceiling combinations.
The volumes, furniture’s masses and display cabinets have been studied So that secure the greatest amount optimally exploit the available space that serves the desired function and requirements. The design corner was also studied to accommodate the specified number of designers and suit the required job.
The principle of free suspension was followed for most of the elements of the space, with the aim of achieving agility and lightness, taking advantage of the available space at the highest level, and liberating the plan and give an atmosphere of spaciousness despite the narrowness of the space.
We followed the contrast method in colors and adopted the black and white colors in order to highlight the design blocks and the employed forms. The somewhat warm orange color was also included in order to extinguish an atmosphere of vitality and activity for the place and make it more stimulating to creativity among the designers.
finally, and for the great importance of the presence of natural material in the space, oak wood was adopted to made lighting blocks, display cabinets and the service door.
